Variations of this error:
Couldn't find library ATL80.DLL (required by ...\Office12\GrooveUtil.DLL)
Couldn't find library ATL80.DLL (required by ...\Office12\GR326C~1.DLL)
Couldn't find library MFC80U.DLL (required by ...\system32\AcSignIcon.dll)

 

The error hints that there might be a compatibility issue with Microsoft Groove, an application that is included with Microsoft Office 2007, and enables users to share and synchronize information.

 

Solution: Molecular Conceptor is not compatible with Microsoft Groove. You need to disable or uninstall Microsoft Groove from the computer.

There might be a syntax error in the 'nethasp.ini' file, in line NN.
Please send us the 'nethasp.ini' file you use, on your client computer, so we can test it in our labs.

This message might appear when you try to update the HASP key. To solve the problem, you need to install the latest HASP4 driver from Aladdin site.

Please follow those instructions that will allow you to install the latest HASP4 driver:

1. Disconnect your HASP protection key from your computer.
2. Download the latest HASP4_driver_setup.zip from http://www.hasp.com/h4
3. Unzip and execute the setup.
4. Reboot your computer.
5. Connect your HASP protection key to the USB port.
6. Activate Molecular Conceptor 2 to verify that the HASP driver is working well.
7. Activate the utility update_key.exe

This message appears when there was a problem during the installation, or the plug-and-play processes of the HASP driver. You need to install the latest HASP driver from Aladdin site:

If you are using Windows XP or Windows 2000, Please follow those instructions that will allow you to install the new driver:

1. Disconnect your HASP protection key from your computer.
2. Reboot your computer
3. Download the latest HASP4_driver_setup.zip from http://www.hasp.com/h4
4. Unzip and execute the setup.
5. Reboot your computer.
6. Connect your HASP protection key to the USB port.
7. Activate Molecular Conceptor 2.

If it did not solve the problem, you need to remove manually the old driver from your computer prior to the installation of the new driver:

* Download the latest HASP_HL_driver_cmdline.zip from http://www.hasp.com/h1
(search for -
HASP Device Driver Downloads,
HASP HL Device Driver Commandline Installation)
* Unzip to get the file haspdinst.exe
* To remove the Alladin device driver:
In the command window, type
c:\...the path of HASPDinst...\HASPDinst\HASPDinst.exe -r
e.g.:
c:\my_temp_files\HASPDinst\HASPDinst.exe –r
* You might be ask to use the ForceRemove flag: if so you can use -
c:\my_temp_files\HASPDinst\HASPDinst.exe –fr
* You might be ask to remove previous installations: if so you can use MolecularConceptor CD –
e:\utility\HASP\uninstall_hasp.bat
If your CD-Drive is not e, replace the e:\ with your CD-Drive letter (e.g. d,f,g,...)
* Remove the HASP protection key from the computer port.
* To open a command window, In Windows Start menu, Select Run...
Type:
cmd
Click OK
A command window will open.
* To install the new driver:
In the command window, type
c:\...the path of HASPDinst...\HASPDinst\HASPDinst.exe -i
e.g.:
c:\my_temp_files\HASPDinst\HASPDinst.exe -i
* Connect your HASP protection key to a USB port.
* You can now close the command window.
* Activate Molecular Conceptor 2.

This message appears when the driver of the HASP key was not installed on the computer.
Run the HASP driver installation program, from the Molecular Conceptor™ CD-ROM:

The HASP protection key has to be in the computer port during the run of Molecular Conceptor™. If it is not recognized, the program prompts with "HASP key not detected".

* If the key is not already in the computer port - insert it.
* If the key was already attached - un-plug it and insert it again. (It could happen if the key was inserted before the installation program).

NOTE: (for Windows NT4) If you installed a USB key to a computer running NT4 operating system, the problems would continue because your operating system does not support USB protocol. In this case you should contact us to receive a parrallel port HASP key.
Available HASP keys:

* for Windows NT : only parralel
* for Windows 98 : USB or parallel
* for Windows Me : USB or parallel
* for Windows 2000: USB or parallel
* for Windows XP : USB or parallel

When trying to install the Molecular Conceptor™ from its CD, I get an error message "Operating System not supported". What does it mean?

The current version of Molecular Conceptor™ supports the following operating systems:

• Windows Vista
• Windows XP
• Windows 2003
• Windows 2000
• Windows ME
• Windows 98SE

• All Vista Users: To run Molecular Conceptor on Vista, you should use a manifest file with the same name of the application file. Please do not rename our original file-name (mc2.exe or mc2_demo.exe or mc2_eval.exe) to avoid this error.
• Vista 64-bit Users: To run Molecular Conceptor on Vista 64-bit, you should use "Windows XP compatible mode":
  • Right-click on mc2.exe (or mc2_demo.exe or mc2_eval.exe), select Properties, then Compatibility tab and apply the Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.

There could be two reasons for getting these errors when starting Molecular Conceptor:

1. The user tried to run Molecular Conceptor (Demo or Evaluation version) from the internet, without first saving the file to a local file.

Solution: Save the 'mc2_demo.exe'\'mc2_eval.exe' file to your local machine and activate it from there. There is a security policy that restricts the permissions to run non-local code.

2. (Windows 2003) The user tried to run Molecular Conceptor from a mapped drive.

Solution 1: Use a local copy of Molecular Conceptor files.

Solution 2: Use Molecular Conceptor from another share name.
A name without special signs that may cause the problem. (e.g.: '$', '@', ...)

It seems that when reading Molecular Conceptor database files, there is a part of the data that the computer cannot read because of language differences. This problem is sometimes seen on Italian or Spanish systems.

To solve the problem: (See the snapshot)

1. Select 'Start' | 'Settings' | 'Control Panel' | 'Regional Options'
2. 'Customize' the 'Decimal Symbol' to a dot sign (.) instead of a comma sign (,)
3. You might also need to change the 'Digit grouping symbol' to a comma sign (,)

It seems that the installation of Windows Defender or Kaspersky anti virus or Microsoft Office 2007 (Office 12) is causing the problem. Whenever Molecular Conceptor application tries to open Internet-Explorer, or write an XML file, one get this error message and Molecular Conceptor may crash.

• Users of Molecular Conceptor Evaluation version: Download the new version of Molecular Conceptor Evaluation version that should solve this problem. (09/07/08)
• Vista users of Molecular Conceptor Demo version: Download the new version of Molecular Conceptor Demo Setup version that should solve this problem. (09/07/08)
• All other Users: To avoid the error messages and the crush, you need to copy two dll files (msvcr80.dll msvcp80.dll) to the folder of Molecular Conceptor exe file:
  1. 1. Download the two zipped dll files:

  2. 2. The files are compressed so you need to unzip them and save them in the same folder of Molecular Conceptor application:
     * If you installed Molecular Conceptor, the default installation folder is:
     C:\Program Files\Synergix\mc2\mc2.exe (or mc2_eval.exe or mc2_demo.exe)
     So If you used the default installation, you should now have -
     C:\Program Files\synergix\mc2\msvcr80.dll
     C:\Program Files\synergix\mc2\msvcp80.dll
     * Note: For Windows XP users of Molecular Conceptor Demo or Evaluation version, you did not have to install Molecular Conceptor, so save the dll files in the same folder of Molecular Conceptor application. e.g.:
     . . .\desktop\test\mc2_eval.exe (or mc2_demo.exe)
     . . .\desktop\test\msvcr80.dll
     . . .\desktop\test\msvcp80.dll
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
  3. 3. You can now run Molecular Conceptor.

This error indicates that the HASP key is not configured to Molecular Conceptor v1.
You need to activate Molecular Conceptor v2 or use the utility that configure the HASP key to support another version.
Note: By setting the HASP key to Molecular Conceptor v2, one will not be able to activate Molecular Conceptor v1 concurrently.

This error indicates that the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 is not installed.
You need to install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1

An old version of the License Manager has been found. Molecular Conceptor requires a newer version of the License Manager to be installed. (8.20 or higher) Please ask your system administrator to upgrade the installed LM.
You can download the latest HASP_LM_setup.zip from Aladdin site - http://www.hasp.com/h4

There could be three reasons for error 129:

1. The (red) NetHASP key was not connected to the workstation that runs the NetHASP License Manager.
   In this case, connect the NetHASP key to the workstation that runs the NetHASP License Manager.
   
2. On you network, there is another NetHASP License Manager running for another NetHASP key (a key of another company), You can verify that this is the case using the Aladdin Monitor Utility (Please consult the "Molecular Conceptor - Administrator Guide").
   In this case there are two solutions:
   1. Connect Molecular Conceptor NetHASP key to the same computer of the other NetHASP key, so that one License Manager will serve both keys.
   2. On each client machine, customize the nethasp.ini file by setting the IP address of the License Manager Server of Molecular Conceptor key.
      The nethasp.ini file default location is:
      'c:\program Files\synergix\mc2\nethasp.ini'
      
      
   
   
3. The HASP driver was not installed on the License Manager server. To install the HASP driver:
   1. Run Molecular Conceptor setup.
   2. On the Select Components screen:
      • Choose Custom Installation: Network version.
      • You might be prompted that some components are already installed on this computer, select continue anyway? Yes.
   3. On the Select Additional Tasks screen:
      • Check the HASP Driver option.
      • Uncheck all other options.
   4. You might be asked to reboot the computer.

There could be two reasons for error 15:

1. The NetHASP License Manager is not running on the computer with the (red) NetHASP key.
Solution: You can install the NetHASP License Manager from Molecular Conceptor CD, when choosing "Network installation"

2. The NetHASP License Manager is running on the computer with the NetHASP key, but other computer stations cannot connect to the License Manager station (because of a firewall or other port restrictions)
Solution: To ensure that your client machines are connected to the License Manager machine:
1. On a client machine open a DOS command window:
In Windows 'Start' menu, Select 'Run...'
Type:
cmd
Click 'OK'
A command window will open.

2. In the command window, type -
telnet <IP of License Manager station> <port number>
For example
telnet 127.0.0.1 475
and press the <Enter> key.

3. If the client machine recognizes the License Manager machine, your command window will turn to black telnet window (you can use <Ctrl+c> to exit and get back the command window). But if there is no connection to the License Manager machine through this port, you will get an error message "Could not open connection to the host on port ...". In such a case you need your system administrator to enable the connection between the clients stations and the License Manager station.

This error occur if the application file mc2.exe was opened during the live update process.

* MC2 Network Version: You need to manually close the application file, and re-activate MC2 Live Update with the same parameter again.
* MC2 Standalone Version: Contact us for specific technical assistance according to your updated state.

This error occur if the application file mc2.exe was activated not from its installation folder. (the default place is -
"C:\Program Files\Synergix\mc2\mc2.exe")

One can use a shortcut to activate mc2.exe, but must ensure that this is a shortcut to the file, and not a copy of the file.

The current version of Molecular Conceptor™ supports the following operating systems:

You need to set your Dot Per Inch resolution:

1. Place your cursor on an empty space on your desktop.
2. Click the right mouse button.
3. A popup menu will appear. Click on Properties.
4. A popup window will appear. Click on the Settings tab.
5. Click on the Advanced button.
6. A popup window will appear. Click on the General tab.
7. Set the DPI resolution:
   • Windows 98/2000: Select Small Fonts (96 dpi).
   • Windows XP: Select Normal Size (96 dpi).
8. Click Apply and follow Windows instructions.

Try to increase your screen colors depth:

1. Place your cursor on an empty space on your desktop.
2. Click the right mouse button.
3. A popup menu will appear. Click on Properties.
4. Click on the Settings tab.
5. Select a different color setting in the Color Quality list. Choosing higher value provides better color quality on your screen. (Your monitor determines the color settings that are available for your screen.)
6. Click Apply and follow Windows instructions.

This message might appear when you try to update the HASP key. To solve the problem, you need to install the latest HASP4 driver from Aladdin site.

Molecular Conceptor™ continually checks the presence of the HASP key. If it could not find it, the program would stop running.

The HASP protection key has to be in the computer port during the run of Molecular Conceptor™. If it is not recognized, the program prompts with "HASP plug not found".

In Molecular Conceptor version 2.11 or higher, we added a feature which allows you to limit the time that an inactive network user (one that has forgotten to log out, or that his connection ended), takes up a user space.

 

On the client station:

1. Locate "mc2.exe.config" file, it should be in the same folder as "mc2.exe" file.
The default file location is:
C:\Program Files\synergix\mc2\mc2.exe
C:\Program Files\synergix\mc2\mc2.exe.config

2.1. Edit "mc2.exe.config" file, using Notepad, or another simple Text Editor, Do not use MS-WORD!
add the line:

    <add key="NIT" value="30" />

This line adds a parameter to set the NetHASP Idle Time (NIT) in minutes, You can set there any value between 1 and 65535.

Before the change:

    . . .
    <add key="versMC.media" value="2.13" />
    <add key="voice" value="on" />    
    . . .

After the change:

    . . .
    <add key="versMC.media" value="2.13" />
    <add key="NIT" value="30" />
    <add key="voice" value="on" />    
    . . .

2.2 Save the config file. (Vista users: You might not have permission to edit a file in "Program Files" folder. You need to copy it to another folder, edit, and save back to the original folder)

3. Activate Molecular Conceptor. To see the difference, open Aladdin Monitor utility and monitor the "Timeout" field in the License Manager login table. ( see screenshot )

Note: the next time you update Molecular Conceptor (e.g. to mc2.14) the config file is overwritten. The old file will be saved in a backup folder. And you might need to edit the new file again.

An alternative solution is to close the License Manager periodically (and re-activate it, to enable new users to log-in). If a user was logged-in you will be informed so you can regret the closing. Please consult Molecular Conceptor Administrator Guide for instruction for closing the License Manager.

Yes. There are two possibilities:

• Install Molecular Conceptor™ application on a remote computer. Each of the "client computers" should have its own HASP key and HASP driver. The drawback is slow performance.
• Install a special network version of Molecular Conceptor™ application, with one Net-HASP key for all the users. By connecting a single Net-HASP key to any computer at the network, it controls the number of stations that use the application simultaneously.

Yes. Your bookmarks are saved in the file bm_default.xml in the bookmarks folder.
To locate the bookmarks folder, use Molecular Conceptor menu option Tools | Bookmarks | Open Bookmarks Folder

There are a few possibilities:

• Open the Table of Content page, and click a chapter title.

or

• Type a page number in the Search field (at the bottom-left) and press <Enter>. for example:
  Type C2.3.12 in this field to access page C2.3.12
  Type C2.5 in this field to access the list of all the pages in chapter C2.5
  
  

or

• Use the Navigation Tree to navigate to a page in the current chapter.

or

• Use the menu option File | Open to start reading a new chapter.
